“Rīgas satiksme” once again calls on its clients to consider the necessity of every trip and to use public transport only when there is no other alternative. To reduce the spreading of COVID-19, the company calls on clients to stay at home, go on foot or by bicycle.
“Rīgas satiksme” is permanently monitoring passenger flows in public transport and the usage of its capacity. The company has already made corrections in line with the situation for some public transport runs with a higher passenger flow, particularly in morning hours, when people go to work, and in evening hours, when they return home. Passenger flows are monitored by public transport drivers, traffic controllers, as well as ticket inspectors and specially trained staff. Information also comes about the registration of trips and from other technical devices.
To reduce the risk of the spreading of virus COVID 19, everybody must be involved, so it is important that people have as little social contacts as possible and would use public transport during the emergency situation only when it is really necessary.
